My skin has always been acne prone and I have tried several home remedies and tried to watch my diet for a while but haven t succeeded. A few remedies have reduced the acne to some extent but haven t completely stopped them from popping out once a week. I don t drink sufficient water and that definitely is one of the causes. I am trying to work on that part but it is not easy for a person like me who hates the taste of water. You can also try these home remedies to get rid of acne scars.

Now my next resort is to try and avoid them from popping out into big pimples for which I use toothpaste. A few of my pimples also leave marks. About few years back a friend with flawless skin recommended me this nutmeg mask for my pre-wedding beauty regime. I started using the nutmeg mask 3 months before my wedding and there was a remarkable difference. Did you know nutmeg also helps induce sleep?

However, the thing with any such face mask is its religious use. If you use it daily, you ll achieve flawless skin and if twice or thrice a week, the results may take a little extra time but will surely show. In my case, I coax myself to use it once a week and it does lighten my acne marks and my skin tone too.

All you need is just two ingredients. So here s the recipe for my homemade nutmeg mask to banish acne marks:

  1. Grate the nutmeg with the help of a super fine grater. You will need one tsp of it. You can grate 2-3 nutmegs at once and store the powder in an airtight container too.
  2. Next you need some milk to make a thick paste that s easy to apply. Add it to the nutmeg and mix it with your finger. You can adjust the quantity of milk but avoid adding to much in one go.
  3. Apply this paste on acne marks and pimples. This should be done every day. Once a week, you can apply the mask on your whole face and neck.
  4. Allow it to dry naturally for 10-12 minutes. Then rinse off and moisturise.

As mentioned before, this has proved to be very effective if used daily. But if you are busy or a little lazy like me, try to use it at least twice or thrice a week.
