Pineapples are also a well known beauty secret when it comes to softening and cleansing your feet. Fresh pineapples are rich in the enzyme, bromelain [1]. This active ingredient cleanses and freshens the skin by removing dead skin cells and other surface impurities. You can also use the tough outer rind as a skin scrubber on your heels and soles to get them super clean and soft. If you don t have access to fresh pineapple you can also used the canned fruit it works equally as well on your feet. To give yourself a pineapple pedicure, you would only need the following items: Before you begin, here are some pedicure tips you should keep in mind.

  • Large bowl, sink, or tub
  • Warm water
  • Nail polish remover, cotton and nail clipper
  • Scrubbing tools: pumice stone, loofah, and pineapple rind
  • Q-tips
  • Any natural oil or good foot cream

Here is how you can treat your feet to the ultimate home pedicure and get soft, rejuvenated, ready-to-go feet: Also know these different types of pedicure that you should try today!

  • Remove any old polish on your toenails using a mild nail polish remover
  • Fill the large bowl or tub with warm water and add some freshly cut pieces of pineapple to it. You may also add some fresh herbs or flowers to enhance your beauty treatment.
  • Now soak your feet in the tub for at least 15 minutes.
  • Scrub your feet with a pumice stone or loofah or a pineapple rind to exfoliate the skin on your feet. Focus mainly on the rough skin spots.
  • Keep soaking for another five to ten minutes.
  • Apply a little natural oil on to the base of your cuticles and gently push them back using Q-tips. This will help to nourish your cuticles. Be careful while doing this so that you don t hurt yourself.
  • Now clip your nails straight across to avoid any in-grown nails. It is recommended to do this step after soaking as wet nails are easier to clip and the outcomes are cleaner.
  • Rinse your feet thoroughly and massage some rich natural oil or foot cream onto them.
  • Finally, apply two thin coats of your favourite nail polish to get fabulous feet.
