A generation ago, guys considered themselves manlier if they had body hair. Today, shaving and waxing is common even among men. While you may like to go smooth shaven in your half-sleeve T-shirt if you are shaving your underarms for reasons like underarm sweat, here's why you should reconsider before shaving your underarms. Anil Kapoor anyone?

Armpit hair smells bad

You must have heard or read that odour causing bacteria in your underarms can multiply in the damp armpit area. Shaving your armpit will provide less space for the bacteria to breed. Some also claim that keeping your armpits clean will increase the effectiveness of deodorant products so you won t smell bad after a sweaty session at the gym. But you need to understand that the bacteria is still going to stick to your skin if there is no armpit hair and you are going to smell bad irrespective of whether you are clean shaved or have a full-grown bush.

Shaving will make you sweat less

Nothing can make you sweat less. Removing the hair from your armpits is not going to make your sweat glands produce less sweat. So if the esthetician at the salon tells you that you that shaving your underarm hair will make you sweat less, just refuse to believe him or her.

Arm pit hair leaves stains on clothes

Your underarms have sweat glands that make you sweat and all that sweat is going to leave sweat stains on your clothes. Shaving your underarms will not make the sweat stains on your clothes less pronounced. Here's what frequent hair removal does to your body.

You will look sexy without underarm hair

Who said body hair is not sexy? Your body hair is not going to make you less sexy. And, if you are worried about women, trust me when I say that many women like the soft matting of hair on your chest and underarms!
