Wearing two lipstick tones is one of the season s biggest trends. It is easily one of the trendiest ways to style your lips. The colour contrast will give you a funky look. While you may have spotted it on the runways and fashion magazines, why not try it on your own? There are many ways in which you can get the dual-toned lipstick look. Makeup artist Janet D Souza tells you how you can create a statement with your lips with two colours.
Split
Neon colours such as pink and neon can do wonders to your lips without making them look too bright. For your lower lip, you can choose a bright shade of pink. Here are 5 shades of pink lipstick every girl should try. Fill your upper lip with an orange shade. As this can be a rather bright look, leave the rest of your face bare and let your lips do the talking. You may use a concealer if you want.
Ombre
To get that pout more attention, try mixing two colours on both your upper and lower lips. First apply a base colour on your entire lip and then take the second colour in the middle of both upper and lower lips to get a two-dimensional finish. Don t do too much with your eyes in this look.
Outlined
The dark lip liner has always been a beauty faux pas. The trick is to use two similar lipstick shades and let them blend together. So colour your outer lips with a bright lip colour like pink and use a shade of red to fill your inner lips. You can also try this look with shades of brick and burgundy. Here's how you can make your lipstick last longer.
