Don t we all just love running our fingers through super soft and smooth hair? It feels like being self-obsessed but I definitely can t stop playing with my soft hair and touching it again and again. But this isn t an everyday story. It only happens when your tresses are pampered with fine spa therapy. I recently chanced upon a new hair and nail studio opened in Churchgate named Hair OK Please and their Off the Hook and Express spa therapies caught my attention and I decided to opt for one of those.
The express hair spa is for those who have less than an hour to spare while the Off the Hook takes a good 90 minutes and includes a complimentary foot and hand massage while you wait for the products applied on the hair to dry. I decided to go for the express hair spa therapy as I was also opting for their cocktail manicure-pedicure which would include a hand and leg massage.
My experience
Pia Balwani, hair expert and owner of the spa checked my hair to see if I had any major issues before choosing the hair spa products for me. She suggested I opt for Wella s enrich hair spa. That was impressive as most salons use standard and basic products for a hair spa without addressing individual needs. My therapist shampooed my hair and rinsed it with lukewarm water, just the way I like it. After pat drying my hair, she started applying the product by creating neat sections of my hair. The product was applied liberally and an inch away from the roots.
This was followed by a relaxing head massage. This is why I love hair therapies. The massage makes me feel so nice and is a great way to de-stress. A steam session followed the massage and while my product was drying naturally, I pampered my feet and hands with a strawberry martini flavoured manicure-pedicure. Here s how you can give yourself a head massage like a pro.
After the usual, washing, rinsing and blow drying, the therapist applied some serum on the tips of my hair and all I did was stare at my beautiful hair in the mirror. I continued to play with my hair for two days after the spa because the results were so good. The hair looked lustrous, smooth and healthy. In fact, it remained knot free for good two days. Isn t that awesome?
I am definitely going back for this hair spa therapy. The express spa costs Rs1200 and the Off the Hook costs Rs2200. I might want to try that the next time to see how the foot and hand massage feel after the head massage.
