So a while back I received two different bath salts as a gift. I reviewed one of them and I am going to share my experience with the second one today. Bath salts work like magic. They calm you, help you relax and relieve sore muscles too. It s surprising how just a cap full of salts can have that effect. But epsom salts and even our regular sea salt has great beauty benefits.
Since I used the other bath salts as a foot soak and did feel a difference, I wanted to try the Soulflower s Ocean Mineral Lavender Bath Salt in some other way. Gladly, they have quick instructions on two different ways to use them besides a foot soak. One is to add them to a bucket of warm water before you take a bath and the other is too wet a towel in the bath salt water and place it on your eyes.
What Soulflower claims?
According to them, their bath salts can relieve you of a headache, ease joint pain and inflammations, releases pain and even helps you sleep better. You can also try this expert recommended home remedy for joint pain.
My review
I decided to use it in my bath. I added two capfuls of the lavender bath salt in a bucket of slightly hot water and gave it a nice stir. The water turned into a nice light lavender coloured soak. It looked appealing to the eyes for sure. I had travelled a lot that day and I used the salts before going to bed. The bath was actually very relaxing. Warm water definitely soothes the muscles and the addition of these salts definitely made it better. I felt fresh and was smelling good too.
On another instance, my eyes were very tired due to lack of sleep. So instead of using the cooling eye pads, I decided to try the bath salt trick. Though Soulflower suggests placing a wet cloth soaked in the bath salts water on your eyes when you have headache, I tried it for puffy, tired eyes. I took a small bowl of water, add a spoonful of the bath salt and wet a towel with it. I then placed it on my eyes and relaxed for 20 minutes. This new eye pads definitely had a calming and cooling effect. I could feel the tension release from around my eye muscles. I slept well that night too.
I like the packaging but the colour of the cap doesn t match the bottle. Wish it was transparent or white. The 500gm bottle costs Rs245 which is quite economical. You can even add this product to your Valentines gift hamper. The lavender colour looks a bit unnatural. They should have skipped adding artificial colour to the product.
Will I buy it again? They have a few more choices like the ocean blue, passionate watermelon and green tea with tangerine. I d like to try one of these.
