Now that the winters have set in, I bought a whole kilo of dates. There s so much you can do with it. Drinking date milk during winters is a family tradition and it is healthy too. I also read about its beauty benefits and realised that consuming dates works wonders for your skin. Read winter care tips your skin will thank you for!

A friend also suggested using dates face pack for my skin to beat the winter dryness. I have normal skin which gets very dry during the winters. Regular moisturizers help for a couple of hours and need reapplication. I apply fresh cream to keep it a little moist but was looking for better recipes for homemade face packs. So here s the easiest recipe for a face mask ever:

Ingredients:

  • Dates, 5-6 without seeds
  • Milk to soak the dates
  • 1 tbsp fresh cream or malai
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Method:

  1. Soak the dates in milk overnight. Mix it with malai and make a smooth paste in the grinder.
  2. Add the lemon juice and apply it evenly on your face while massaging it in a circular motion.
  3. Allow it to dry for 20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Here are different ways to use different oils for dry skin.
  4. Repeat this thrice a week for best results. You can prepare the mask and store it in the refrigerator for the week. Just add the lime juice only during application.

My review:

The mask worked pretty well for me. My skin doesn t feel dry after the shower. I have been using it for 3 weeks now and haven t noticed any pimples or acne. In fact, my cheeks feel nice and supple on touching. The dryness around the nose has also vanished. The coarse paste works as a mild scrub too. Find out common mistakes is giving you dry skin.
