To get good skin should be one of your New Year resolutions for 2018. After all, clear, soft, smooth skin is not just attractive but is also a sign of good health. In 2018, we'll help you achieve your healthy beauty New Year resolutions with these tips from Shahnaz Husain:

Don t overwash your face: Most people with oily skin tend to wash their face frequently with soap and water, in an effort to reduce oiliness. This is actually a mistake. The soap may be too alkaline in nature and this frequent soap-and-water washing routine can disrupt the normal acid-alkaline (pH) balance of the skin. This leaves the skin prone to pimples and acne. Healthy skin is slightly more acid than alkaline. You must make these Ayurveda beauty resolutions.
Don t blindly trust what your beautician during facials: If you have oily or combination skin, don t get facial massages with oily creams. This would further activate the oil glands, leading to clogged pores, pimples and acne. For normal to oily skin, the facial treatment in salons should include deep pore cleansing, exfoliation with a scrub or cleansing grains, toning, medicated masks and products, etc. If there are pimples, acne or rash, scrubs or grainy substances should not be used on them.
Don t use oil-based products if you have oily skin: A person with oily skin should apply oil-free products, like an oil-free matte moisturiser, or gel-based sunscreen. These are the best moisturisers in India.
Don t load your skin with creams: Avoid night cream if you have for normal to oily skin. Even for normal to dry skin, smothering the skin with cream all night does not help at all. The skin can only absorb a little. In fact, the pores should be free of cream, so that the skin can breathe. Whether summer or winter, avoid leaving cream around the eyes all night. This can lead to puffy eyes. Wipe off the cream around eyes gently, after 15 minutes, with moist cotton wool.
Don t use harsh astringents: This can disrupt the normal skin balance. An astringent is useful in summer, especially for oily skin, as it reduces oiliness and prevents clogging of the pores. However, if it is too harsh, mix the astringent lotion with rose water in equal quantities and keep in an airtight bottle in the fridge.
Don t forget sunscreen: Remember to use a waterproof, broad-spectrum sunscreen lotion. Remember to re-apply it after an hour. Try the Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture lotion.
Don t touch your face with your hands: Your hands carry germs and bacteria, and touching them to your face can transfer them to your facial skin and lead to eruptive skin problems.
