Whether you have sensitive skin or are the rough-and-tough kind, shaving is something most men have to resort to at some point. Shaving is an art and having the best products and resources may not be enough to avoid those shaving bumps and nicks. Watch this video to find out how to keep you face smooth and free of razor burn.

Razor blades are designed to lift hairs away from the surface of the skin and easily cut through the hair without much force. When the blades dull, or the technique is wrong , more pressure is needed to do the same job.

Shave the wrong way or with a dull razor and you may face:

  • Uneven or uncut hair
  • Rough hair edges (which can lead to ingrown hair or irritation as the hair grows out)
  • Small cuts in the skin (due to extra pressure)
  • Raw, irritated skin or razor burn (due to excess exfoliation from shaving with too much pressure)

Recovery from shaving irritation can take several days. The best cure? Prevention. Take some of the precautions adviced on shaving aftercare. You and your skin will be glad you did.
