Getting out of the door can be your sole priority in the busy mornings. You tend to skip things like eating a nutritious breakfast and moisturising your skin post-shower. But you need to ensure that your skin does not suffer because of your busy routine. Follow these quick tips from beauty expert Janet Fernandez to get a long-lasting glow throughout the day. Here are the 10 lesser known causes of dry skin.

  • The drying indoor heat can cause cells to shed too fast when you sleep, resulting in rough, flaky skin. To add some moisture back into the air, use a humidifier in your bedroom. Keep it on, till you wake up in the morning.
  • Drink water to hydrate from inside out. Make sure that you drink at least two glasses of water the first thing you wake up every morning.
  • Take a warm shower. Just make sure that the water is not too hot as hot water can dry out your skin. Adding a few drops of almond oil to your bath can help hydrate your skin.
  • Then moisturise immediately once you are out of the shower. Use a spray for the hard-to-reach places. A body moisturiser can help seal in the moisture into your skin. Add three drops of pure glycerin, to a bottle of your favourite moisturizer.
  • Do not forget your legs. Make sure you moisturise your legs too. Your legs also need long-lasting hydration.
  • Thin and fragile, the skin on your eyelids is the most dryness-prone area of your face. If your eyelids are itchy, scaly or red, swipe a hydrocortisone cream over them an in the morning to help hydrate and reduce redness.
  • Take a moment to close your eyes and breathe. Dry skin can flare up when you are stressed. Follow these 7 tips to make your skin glow.

You are now ready to take on the day!
