4 pudina face packs for glowing, soft, acne-free skin

Mint or pudina is a refreshing and soothing ingredient for the skin. It comes with exceptional properties that make it one of the best herbs used for skincare. It is antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory in nature. Pudina is hence a natural cleanser for skin irritation, acne, blemishes and severe skin diseases. This strong and cooling herb comes with high contents of vitamin A, salicylic acid and antioxidants that make it an ideal pick for skincare face packs. Here is how you can use mint to your benefit:

#1 Mint and cucumber to beat sunburns and tan

Mint contains vitamin A and C with omega-3 fatty acids, which help against sunburns and suntan. Like mint, cucumber is packed with antioxidants and helps revitalise skin, heal skin burns and tanned skin better. Both these ingredients make for a relieving facial pack.

Steps:

  • Take 1/2 cup of sliced cucumber with 1/4 cup of chopped mint leaves and blend them together.
  • Once you get a fine paste of the two, apply it gently onto your face leaving the area around the eyes.
  • Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and wash off with cold water.

#2 Mint and fullers earth or multani mitti for oily skin

Mint contains menthol, that is why it cuts down the secretion of oil from the sebaceous gland, making the skin less oily. Similarly, due to the presence magnesium, fullers earth is great for an acne-free skin and deep cleanses the skin's surface, eliminating dead skin cells. Steps:

  • Crush a few mint leaves and add 1 tbsp of fullers earth. Mix these into a fine paste.
  • You could also add rosewater to this, if you prefer.
  • Apply this paste all over your face and neck.
  • Rinse it off thoroughly within 20 minutes.

#3 Mint leaves with rosewater for acne

Mint, usually present in face washes and creams, is meant to resolve acne. It is hence an effective remedy to release the skin from stubborn blemishes and acne as it contains salicylic acid. Another natural astringent, rosewater, also gives relief from acne. Rosewater is often used to tackle skin issues like acne, eczema and dermatitis. Steps:

  • Take a few mint leaves, some rose water and grind them to a smooth paste.
  • Apply the mix onto the affected area.
  • Rinse off after 10 minutes (you could also leave this overnight).

#4 Mint, milk, honey, oats and cucumber moisturising skin scrub

Honey is a natural humectant and deep cleanses clogged pores due to the enzymes present in it. It keeps the skin hydrated and healthy. Another crucial ingredient, milk, helps improve complexion, soothes skin irritation, removes dead skin cells and contributes along with honey for a radiant looking skin. Oats is added to this face pack as it acts as a moisturising scrubber for dry, flaky skin and cleanses the dirt and oil from pores. Steps:

  • Take 1 tbsp oats, 2 tbsp milk powder in a bowl and add 1/2 tbsp honey, grated cucumber with around 10 crushed mint leaves to it.
  • Mix the ingredients into a fine consistency.
  • Apply the mixture on your face thoroughly in circular motions and leave it for not more than 5-7 minutes.
