Winters have arrived and the dry itchy skin has started troubling me already. I am in a place where the cold leaves your skin completely dry unlike the previous cities where the humidity balanced it out. During winters, I like baby soft skin. It just makes me feel warm and cozy. The dryness is irritating especially when you suddenly feel the urge to itch during office hours. Read: 10 tips to prevent the winter itch.
I have a few body lotions already but I decided to give body butters a try this season. Though I am a cocoa butter fan, I couldn t resist the temptation to buy The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter because of its fragrance. A colleague uses an entire range of Body Shop Strawberry products and the fragrance is just too addictive. I have purchased the mist, shower gel, body cream and much more too and will review that later. For now here s my review of The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter:
Product packaging
It comes in a 200ml plastic tub. Though the tub is lightweight, it s big and isn t very convenient to carry while on the go. Creams in tubs aren t very good from hygiene perspective but I guess since the texture of the butter is thick, they can t bottle it. Read: Winter dos and don ts for your skin.
The product
It is light pink in colour and thick enough. You need just a small quantity and it spread evenly. Just massage it gently and it blends perfectly well with the skin. Though it's butter, it doesn t leave behind any greasiness or oily residue. For me, it was the perfect cream I need to survive the winters in this city. It leaves my feet so well moisturised for 5-6 hours and there is a healthy shine that it imparts making my hands and legs look prettier. The fragrance is the biggest USP of the product. It lasts for a good 3-4 hours and when combined with the shower gel, a little longer. Read: 5 winter beauty essentials for when you are outdoors.
I am very happy with the product though it s slightly pricey. So I might look for other budget-friendly options before I decide which one to continue with. The 200ml tub costs Rs1095.
