Product Review: Oriflame’s Nature’s Secrets Wheat and Coconut Hot Oil

I just found a new product to rescue me from my bad hair days! I simply love this hot oil by Oriflame.

It is embarrassing when you have a bad hair day while visiting another city for work or leisure. If it is meant to be a short trip, you obviously don t carry a bottle of hair oil with you. What if it leaks and spoils your beauty kit? On one such occasion, I carried along a tube of Oriflame s Nature s Secrets Wheat and Coconut Hot Oil with me.

The review

The product comes in two varieties, one with wheat and other with ricemilk and both are targeted to treat dry and damaged hair. The oil has a runny and not sticky consistency and can be applied easily to the roots and scalp. All you need to do is heat the sealed tube in hot water for a minute and then break the seal to use the product. It cannot be applied directly with the bottle so you ll have to either pour it in a small bowl or use your palm for it. After the first wash, my hair did feel soft and smooth. I skipped the hair conditioner on purpose to see if it had deep conditioning effects, and it sure did. That does not mean you must skip conditioners each time, because applying a good conditioner is as important as applying hair oil. Here are some tips to oil your hair the right way by Jawed Habib.

  • It is sleek and as convenient to carry as a lip balm.
  • It is non-sticky but gives you the same or even better effect than regular oil.
  • Since it is less sticky, you do not need a lot of water or time to wash your tresses. It is ok even if you leave it on your hair for just 10 minutes. In fact, the tube says you can leave it on for just a minute. What more can you ask for?
  • The shelf life is 3 years, so you can stock up the tubes and use them whenever required.

You should know what Shahnaz Hussain tells you not to do these 4 things to your hair this winter.

  • It is slightly expensive. A 15ml tube costs Rs.99. However, since one tube is perfect for medium length hair the quantity is justified. I use it once in 15 days and find it more economical than almond or any other fancy hair therapy oils.
  • If you have short hair, you might be left with some oil but since the bottle is not re-sealable you ll have to share it with someone or just use up the extra oil.

Will I buy it again? Definitely. I shall watch the results for a few more weeks and if it gives me the same effect as a salon hot-oil treatment, why spend my moolah there!
