Product Review: L’Occitane Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner for fine hair

Can the L'Occitane Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner for fine hair really give your fine hair a much-needed boost? Here's my experience with this product.

For those who are not lucky enough to be blessed with thick hair, the struggle of avoiding limp looking hair is real. I have desperately been looking for hair products that would help in adding some volume to my otherwise lifeless hair and just recently, I came across L Occitane volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Here are 7 ways to make you hair look thicker. I was introduced to these two products after I received it in my monthly Envy Box. These products are more on the expensive side as compared to your regular Pantene or Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners. A 300 ml bottle of volumizing shampoo will cost you Rs 1,460 and a 250 ml bottle of the conditioner costs the same amount.

Using L Occitane Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner for fine hair

The shampoo claims to boost your hair s body and vitality with five essential oils which includes rosemary, mint, sweet orange, pine and artemesia. Other than that, the shampoo and conditioner also claims to be rich in amino-acids which will help in giving a natural lift and volume to your hair. I was excited t osee if the product would really live up to its promise or not and started using it last week. The shampoo is translucent and what I liked about it while using it was that for thin hair, you don t need to use it more than once to rinse off hair oil. Also, don t use more than a (50 paise) coin sized quantity unless you have very thick hair.

As soon I massaged it into my hair and scalp, it immediately got lathered up and had had a subtle fragrance that doesn t linger after washing it off. After that, as per your usual hair washing routine, I used the conditioner. I was disappointed to see that the conditioner wasn t thick in consistency and even after applying it to the ends of my hair, it didn t feel like I had just applied any conditioner. Despite that, I thought I ll reserve my verdict until I was done washing my hair and it dried on its own.

My Review

Despite the product s tall claims, I felt it had merely dried out my hair and it felt even more frizzy than usual. I used a lot of leave-in conditioner to add some moisture and only after that did some of the roughness in my hair reduce. I used the L Occitane s volumizing shampoo and conditioner a few more times after that and each time, I was disappointed to see that my hair looked even more dry, frizzy and rough than usual. Needless to say, it didn t help in improving how lifeless and limp my hair looks. I would suggest investing your hard earned money on some other product or only investing in the shampoo and using another conditioner. Here are some styling tips for women with thinning or fine hair.
