Does expensive mean effective? Not always, but in some cases, yes. Earlier, I tried the La Roche-Posay foaming gel and though it is an expensive face wash, I am head over heels for it. I have already purchased it the second time and will place the next order soon. Coming back to expensive skincare products, since the first thing that hits you is the price of the product for the quantity provided. You can also follow these tips to choose the right skincare products for oily and acne prone skin.
Probably this was the reason I was very critical when I tried this product. If I am paying a huge price, the product certainly needs to live up to the expectations. And I am happy to tell you, it certainly does. I used it in combination with the foaming gel twice a day religiously in my skincare routine, and did not experience any acne or pimple in the past one month. The only time I had tiny acne around my nose was the days I have used extensive make-up and I am sure it has nothing to do with these two products from La Roche-Posay.
What I like about the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+
The packaging is sleek and classy. The needle tip style opening is excellent and the lotion comes out smoothly and in the desired quantity. There is no spillage, leakage or dirty cap and neck of the tube even when you are carrying it in your purse. So I think hygienically, this is the best packing I have ever seen for a lotion. I am in love with the consistency too. It is a water based lotion for oily and sensitive skin with thermal water and anti-irritants. It is non-fragrant which is again a good sign and paraben free. So total thumbs up for the ingredients used.
The review
You need very little amount of the lotion and the sleek tube will definitely last you a month. I have not used a moisturiser along with it but if you feel your skin is dry, you may use one. I apply sunscreen over it only when I am stepping out of home. The lotion keeps my face dry yet soft and supple and is a great base for make-up too. I have observed that the compact powder or mousse stays better on this base than on my regular moisturisers.
The only con is that it does not have SPF and hence cannot be used as a moisturizer cum sunscreen. The price is another factor because a 40ml tube costs Rs1300. If you are mighty impressed with the results, I am sure you ll be convinced to buy it even at this price.
