A few days back, I received a sample of the Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic face scrub from Kama Ayurveda. I have a dusky complexion and since I don t drink much water, my face doesn t appear glowing or bright. I have to make efforts to add the glow. The claims of the product sounded interesting and decided to give it a try.
As instructed on their website, I mixed the scrub with a little rose water to form a paste and applied it on my damp face. Just like other scrubs, you need to massage it gently on your skin in circular motions for a few minutes. I washed my face and didn t apply a moisturiser to check if the product causes any additional dryness. Since I have normal skin, I did not feel excessive dryness but for dry skin, a moisturising routine followed by the scrub will be essential. Here are some every day ingredients that are excellent exfoliants.
I did feel fresh and there was a definite glow on my skin, just like you get after a facial when your skin is completely clean. The product claims that regular use will reduce pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and brighten the skin. Also, you need to apply this product only once or twice a week. Thank goodness! Considering the steep price of the product, Rs995 for a 50ml bottle, using it every day could prove more expensive than salon treatments. The product is made with 12 ingredients which include saffron and almonds. Both these and other ingredients in the product promote cell growth too. Moreover, it is Ayurvedic and so is mild and safe for all types of skin. I asked a friend with sensitive skin to try it too and the Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic face scrub did not cause any itching on her skin either.
Will I buy it again? It is a good product but slightly expensive. I will finish this one and if the results are remarkable, I might consider picking it up again.
