Product Review: Body Shop’s Strawberry mist, lotion and shower gel

Smell like fresh strawberries with this product range.

The secret to smelling good for long hours and getting the exact fragrance of a perfume or lotion is to use the product in combination with a similar range of products. Like if you want a body mist to stay longer, use a body lotion of the same brand and a shower gel too if possible. Winters are here and I it reminds me of strawberries. I avoid sweet fragrances but Body Shop s strawberry is the perfect fresh and citrusy fragrance that I was looking for this season.

So I ordered the entire range of the Strawberry shower gel, lotion and body mist. And here s my review:

The packaging:

All of Body Shop s products are classy and come in transparent plastic bottles. The shower gel comes with a pump dispenser and so does the lotion which makes it super easy to use. All bottles are leak proof and travel-friendly depending on the size of the product of course. Have you tried The Body Shop s Strawberry Body Sorbet?

The review:

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel is thicker in consistency as compared to other gels and it lathers up well even without a loofah. The scent is slightly sweeter as compared to the body lotion and mist. It rinses of easily and keeps your skin moisturised too.

The Body Shop Strawberry Softening Gel Lotion is an orange-pink coloured thick lotion. A small quantity is sufficient as it spreads easily and keeps your skin hydrated for a long time. Those with dry skin like mine might need a body butter instead of the lotion. But for normal skin, this product is just perfect with its soft fragrance of pureed strawberries. In fact, the fragrance of the lotion emanates much more than that of the mist.

I have started liking body mists to perfumes because both need reapplication but the former costs much less. The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist has a refreshing strawberry aroma that is perfect for winters and very enticing for the summers. When I apply this with the lotion and shower gel, the fragrance lasts up to 5-6 hours. You ll need a reapplication every 2 hours if you re using just the mist. The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel 250ml bottle costs Rs450 which is high as compared to other shower gels. But it will last you for 2 months so a good investment. The Body Shop Strawberry Softening Gel Lotion costs Rs750 for a 250ml bottle. I am not satisfied with its hydrating properties so won t buy this again though the fragrance is the best. A 100ml bottle of The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist costs Rs745 which is slightly expensive but it s a quality product and lasts for about 2 months after daily application.
