Lip crayons are quite popular these days and a preferred choice of many girls like me as they are light weight, easy to carry, don t break like regular lipsticks and give the perfect matte look we all desire. I had a couple of bright coloured lip crayons but I was looking for a better nude shade for daily wear. Buying a lip colour is a task for me as I need to try many before I find the right shade for my dusky skin tone.
I happened to see a collection from BeYu. Now, I have tried the BeYu eyeliner and mascara from the monsoon range and both are fab products. In fact, I love the BeYu eyeliner so much that I bought a second one along with this lip crayon. Back to the lip colour range from BeYu. They had just a couple of shades in nude colours. I picked up the BeYu Color Biggie for Lips and More Matte shade for trial and all I said was I ll take this . It was the shade I have been looking for since my last birth may be. And so here s my review of this lip colour I am now in love with:
The review
The product claims to be waterproof and lasts for about 6 hours and that is true. It is definitely waterproof and lasts for about 5-6 hours. It is extremely light weight as compared to the other crayons I have. What I like about the packaging is that it is colour coded with your shade. This makes it easily identifiable if you have multiple shades of the same brand. Read: BeYu Beauty Queen Volume Waterproof Mascara review.
Moving to the application, my lips are a bit dry so I need to apply some lip balm or petroleum jelly before using the lip colour. It was a creamy matte effect but doesn t leave your lips feeling greasy at all. Once applied, it settles in less than 15 seconds and you won t even realise you have anything on your lips. There are no deposits in the crease and it is kiss proof too. It just glides very easily on your lips unlike a few crayons that need excessive efforts. The pigmented effect of the crayon doubles up as a lip liner. So the best part is that you don t need to carry a lip liner along with you if you have the BeYu color biggie. The rosy nude tone is just apt for dusky skin and a couple of my friends tried it and it suited all of them. This is one shade that s goes with many different complexions. The 8g crayon costs Rs800 and is definitely a good investment if you want a lip colour that is perfect for daily or office wear. I have been using it 3-4 times a week for about 2 months now and it ll last me for another two I suppose. So, not at all expensive. Read: Hikari Lip Crayon Fireside review.
