Planning to get a Botox treatment? Cosmetologist Dr Karuna Malhotra from Cosmetic Skin and Homeo Clinic, New Delhi shares five essential dos and don ts you need to follow post the treatment. You could also try these treatments to beat ageing.

1. After getting your Botox injection, try to exercise the treated muscles during the first hour. Facial gestures such as frowning, squinting, raising your eyebrows, etc. will help the injected solution work better.

2. Do not get a facial or rub and massage the treated area for at least 24 hours post the treatment. Consult your doctor before you get any other treatment done.

3. Some patients experience a mild headache after Botox. If this happens, you can take a paracetamol.

4. Those tiny bumps and marks you see are likely to fade away in a few hours. But there is a risk of bruising, which again is temporary, and you can cover it up with make-up if needed.

5. Remember, Botox takes about three to five days to have a visible result and up to two weeks for the full effect of the treatment.

Since Botox is a temporary procedure, the results last for three to four months. Post that you will have to get it again to maintain your look. Here s what you need to know more about this anti-wrinkle treatment.
