Coconut oil

Apply lots of coconut oil on your skin and leave it on for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, wipe it off with a muslin cloth and not cotton pads. This will remove all the excess oil and colour from your skin.

Glycerin, rose water & lime juice

Add some glycerine to rose water and squeeze a little amount of lemon in the mixture. Apply it, leave it on for some time and then rinse with warm water. Make sure you don't overuse lime juice. Add just a little bit of juice to the mixture. This mixture is very hydrating for the skin and helps take off colour too.

Soy flour/Gram flour paste

If you have dry skin, then go for soy flour and the ones with a combination/oily skin, go for the gram flour or besan paste. Mix the flour with water or milk to make a thick paste. Apply it and leave it on for a while. Gently take it off using a muslin cloth.

Uptan/ Haldi + gram flour +mustard oil

Uptan is usually a face pack that brides use before the wedding, and it is a wonderful face pack. It has antibiotic properties and acts as a moisturiser too. If you have acne-prone skin, then do not go for this pack. The method of application remains same as mentioned above for the other face packs.

Oatmeal + milk powder scrub

Mix oatmeal with milk powder to make a scrub. Massage gently onto skin and wash with normal or lukewarm water. Be careful not to use hot water on your skin.

Tips you must follow:

  • Do not use hot water on your skin. Always go for lukewarm or normal room temperature water
  • Do not overuse any of the packs or ingredients
  • Leave it on for some time before you take it off
  • Always follow it up with a good moisturiser as per your skin type
  • Do not use honey or aloe vera on your skin without consulting and knowing your skin type

Have a Happy Holi, you guys!!!
