Foundation is essential to pull off any makeup look. While you may using the best foundation in the market, you can still spoil your look by making certain mistakes. Applying foundation is the trickiest step to master. Avoiding these mistakes can get you closer to perfection. Beauty expert Nandini Agarwal from Marvie Ann Beck Academy tells you foundation mistakes you could be making.
You use the wrong consistency: If your skin is dry, the foundation powder can settle into pores and fine lines, and foundation liquids can look too wet if your skin is oily. Your foundation should blend seamlessly into your skin and give you coverage without heaviness. So make sure that you use the foundation with the right consistency.
You apply foundation everywhere on your face: Applying a blanket of foundation everywhere on the face can kill your look and make it look like you have used heavy makeup. The key is to blend the foundation well on your skin and then apply foundation on the blemishes if required.
You use a lot of foundation to cover spots: Whether you want to cover the fine lines, blemishes or discolouration, applying heavy foundation on those areas will draw more attention to the texture of the skin. To cover up fine lines and discolouration, use primers and highlighters. Also, instead of caking up makeup, use concealer on the blemishes. Did you know these skincare mistakes are ruining your skin?
The colour of the foundation is lighter than your skin tone: Opt for a foundation which is the same shade as your skin tone and not something lighter than it, as you aren t using it to look fairer but have an even complexion. Always try the shade on your cheek or jawline and not on your wrist, as you may end up buying the wrong shade. Once you buy the right one, apply it to a clean face and dab some powder to finish the look. Here are tips for long-lasting makeup.
