Are you a newbie to waxing or shy to get it done? Look at Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra or any of today s hunks -- don t you notice their hairless body? Waxing has become as common among males as getting hair styled in a salon. It is a part of male grooming now. The number of males opting for body waxing is increasing by the day. It could be for various reasons from showing off your body at the gym, participating in some body building contest or impressing your partner. So what are waiting for, read through these tips my Pooja Goel, owner of Khoobsurat Salon, Spa and Academy, Delhi and go for it.
Here s what you need to know if you are a first timer to male waxing:
It hurts. It definitely does, but the pain is just momentary. Once your hair is removed, the pain will vanish in few seconds. Goel suggests starting waxing at an early age as young hair is softer and easier to remove.
Always check if the salon you are visiting has staff that is experienced in male waxing. Though the technique is same, your hair is harder than that of women and hence needs special skill in pulling it out.
Since it is your first time, you hair will be pretty long. The expert will initially trim it and then begin waxing. From the second session onwards you will have to wait till your hair is at least 5mm long to get it waxed again.
A cold compression or rubbing some ice is the best way to reduce any redness or soreness. It also prevents itching that might add to the redness post waxing.
If you have moles or any wounds, the expert should leave that area. Waxing is ideally not recommended in case of these and if you are suffering from varicose veins.
