Smokey eye look: Here’s an ultra-cool trick of getting perfect smokey eyes for a party or for work and that too in less than 5 minutes. Use your eyeliner and draw a slanted hashtag on the outer corner of your eyelid. Now blend this in with the rest of your make-up and voila, it’s done!
Who does not like the look of a good smokey eye, dramatic lashes and winged eyeliner? But if you have spent over thirty minutes mastering your cat-eye look, you will know how painful it is to have it smudged all over your lids especially when you are at office. Here s what is making your eye make-up smear and smudge according to make-up artist Tara Jaisingh.
You skip wearing the eye primer: An eye primer is a must for long-lasting eye make-up. Eye primer can not only camouflage any red tones but can work as an excellent base for your eye shadow to last and pop all day long. Here are a few make-up tricks for tired looking eyes.
You use too much eye shadow at once: Smudging is often a result of using too much of your eye shadow. It can be safe to apply little product at a time. If you are using an eye shadow powder, you need to tap the brush slightly to remove the excess powder.
You use oily eye creams and moisturizers: Heavy oil-based moisturizers and eye creams can make your make-up travel down your face. Applying oils and creams to the area will make it more difficult to apply the make-up and more importantly put it there. It is best that you stick to the creams and moisturizers in the night and use water based eye gel in the morning.
You use the mascara wrong: You need to apply eye liner from the middle to the tip of the eyelashes and not the root to prevent smudging. You can also use waterproof mascara as a top coat at just the tip of your lashes. Here are 9 tips for long-lasting make-up.
You use a pencil eye liner: Pencil eye liners are usually oil based and travel all over your lids and your face. While gel eyeliner can take a moment to dry, it can last longer even on your waterline.
