From using a powder to set to using a daily face cream under the eyes, to using a dry concealer, you could be making a number of concealer mistakes in an attempt to look well-rested, says beauty expert Janet Fernandez. Which of these mistakes are you making while concealing your undereye area?

You use foundation under your eyes

You may just blend your face make-up all the way up to your under eye, but foundations do nothing to help the skin near the eyes. Foundation will just add an unwanted layer to your process. Simply stick to using an eye-cream or an eye-serum. These are the 10 dos and don'ts for applying foundation.

You do not use a corrector

If you were never happy with the results of your concealer it is probably because you never added a corrector to your make-up routine. Correctors are available in multiple shades for the correct match. The orange and peach tones correctors will just hide the blues and purples under the eye.

You use a dry concealer

Some concealers tend to get cakey and get caught in the creases of your eyes. Shift to a creamy formula if you notice creases on the sides of your eyes. Look for words like creamy and radiant while buying a concealer that will give you full coverage without getting dry.

You use the wrong shade

A concealer doesn t have to be the lightest shade; it simply should be a colour that s closest to your skin tone in order to be effective. Otherwise, you might just end up highlighting what you wish to hide! Here are 5 expert tips to fix common make-up mistakes.

You do not blend it well

Remember that concealer is not meant for spot treatment. So, just dabbing it on to the skin is something you must avoid. You should focus on blending it slowly with your fingertips by tapping lightly the on skin for few seconds. Now set the look with some translucent powder and you re ready to go!
