The perfect work look
Natural, nude make-up is best suited for the office/day look. Avoid using bright lipsticks, colours, etc., that can attract unnecessary attention and criticism. Also, women tend to abuse the use of kohl by applying too much under the waterline which makes the eyes look disproportionate. Use a sharp eyeliner instead and give a slight wing at the edges to make your eyes look open. Lips must be well-defined, matte, natural shades are the best bet. The office is not the runway, so don't obsess over changing your looks or following fashion trends. Keep it simple and 'you'.
Face make-up
The foundation must be the exact shade as your skin tone and avoid heavier application to hide any flaws. Make sure it's well-blended and simply not patchy.
Select a neutral, matte eyeshadow and nothing bright or shimmery, almost nude. You don t have to use eye make-up brushes if you learn how to master using your fingers to apply eyeshadow. Remember to sweep adequate amounts onto your finger (whichever you are more comfortable with). Then, shake off the excess and blend well after you apply the product.
Line the eyes lightly with a dark brown shade of kohl as black can be too harsh. Use a thin eyeliner close to the lashline and avoid using mascara as it can look too fake during the day time, especially for your work place.
For the lips, make sure you exfoliate them in the morning. Proceed by using a lip liner and fill it in with a matte natural shade. Instead of using lipstick, blend a thin layer of lip balm over the lip pencil so that it lasts longer and doesn't look overdone. Peachy corals or nude pinks work on most Indian skin tones. How to not overdo it
You shouldn't be caking up your face too much. The make-up may look inappropriate for a professional environment. Avoid using too much foundation, concealers, powders, etc. Keep in mind you need to let your skin breathe so make sure the application is not too much and don't treat your face as canvas by using too much colour. Remember less is more.
