You may just want to conceal your facial redness with makeup but sometimes the wrong formula can aggravate the inflammation. So if you are applying makeup to conceal your redness you need to be really careful. Beauty expert Janet Fernandezjots down three makeup rules to cover the redness.
Use the concealer sparingly
It is okay if you apply a tiny bit of concealer but applying too much of it can make things even worse. The more concealer you slather to cover up the redness, the more you will end up highlighting the uneven texture of the acne bump, the eczema patch or rosacea.
Opt for mineral makeup
Mineral make-up is naturally anti-inflammatory so you do not have to think twice before you use the mineral powder as foundation. And as mineral powder contains, very few ingredients it is less likely to irritate your skin.
Go very gentle
Do not use make-up brushes as they can make your already irritated skin feel like it is being scrapped. You need to be gentle and apply make-up using a sponge or your fingers instead. Also, just tab the make-up gently as rubbing will further irritate your skin. Also, avoid these beauty products if you have sensitive skin.
