Wondering how to contour your face to make it look more sculpted? It is an art to learn contouring tricks but once you master it, you can look perfect, especially in selfies as they are usually close-up shots.
Contouring make-up can change the entire look of your face. Contouring and highlighting work in combination to complement each other. It can lift, accentuate, hide flaws of the face such as making a chubby face appearing less round, a broad nose looking sharper, thin lips looking plump, and so on. But getting the strokes right can be tricky. Lisa Munlua, a senior make-up artist at Inglot India, explains how to contour your face the right way.

Step 2: Smear a hint of the dark powder just below your cheekbones to create an illusion of more elevated cheeks. Brush it in an upward movement then complete the look by applying blush on the cheeks.
Step 3: Use the same dark powder to contour the nose with the help of a small, round, fluffy brush. Apply the powder on both the sides of the nose and the tip working your way up till the eyebrows, leaving the bridge for a sharper effect. To create an elevated nose, you can also use a highlighting cream.

Tips to remember
The powder can be 2 to 3 tones darker than your natural skin tone, and can be substituted with a foundation of the same tone.
The application remains the same except that the powder brush will be replaced by a cream brush.
Since you are using dark colours, blending plays a very important role. Pay special attention to blend away the hard lines.
Less is always better and looks more natural. After contouring, keep the rest of the make-up simple.
