There are a variety of moisturising creams available over the counter and various skincare treatments offered at salons as well. However, you can also get your face looking radiant and well-moisturised using natural ingredients from your household. Before you begin moisturising, you shouldn’t forget washing and cleansing your face, first. If you’re in a rush and need to moisturise your face then some cream or malai lying in your fridge is just ideal. Besides, malai exfoliates your face well due to the lactic acid present in it.

Steps: Apply some cold cream or malai on your face. You could also mix a tablespoon lemon with it. Apply this and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then wash your face with plain water.

Honey

Honey contains antioxidants and has anti-microbial properties. Thus, it helps keep the moisture in place and leaves your skin soft and smooth.

Steps: You can simply apply honey all over your face and leave it for at least 15 minutes before taking a bath.

Yoghurt and papaya face mask

Yoghurt provides great relief to dry and itchy skin and papaya is rich in vitamin E and C. It is also rich in antioxidants and is very moisturising.

Steps: Mix half a cup of yoghurt with three tablespoons of mashed papaya. Add a few drops each of honey and lemon juice. Apply it on your skin and leave it for 10 minutes. Then, wash it off with cold water. Follow this once a week.

Strawberry cream mask

Strawberries help the skin regain its moisture and leave it glowing. Strawberries with some curd or cream can make for a soothing scrub which will not be too harsh on your skin but help get rid of dead skin cells.

Steps: Cut some strawberries and mash them well. Add 1 spoon of lemon juice, half a cup of curd or cream to them. Let this mixture cool in the fridge for half an hour. Apply this mix all over your face and neck and leave it for 20 minutes. Remove this mask with some scrubbing. Be careful to scrub your face gently.

Overripe banana face pack

Overripe bananas usually go straight into the bin, but here s how you can use them to manage dry skin, get rid of dead skin cells and treat aging skin.

Steps: Take two overripe bananas and mash them. Add a few drops of honey and two tablespoons of yoghurt. Mix well. You could put some oats in the mixture to exfoliate your skin. Apply this paste onto your face and neck with a flat face pack brush. Leave out the area around the eyes. Wash after 15-20 minutes.

Olive Oil and egg face pack

Olive oil is good for moisturising the skin. If you have dry skin, massage it well in your skin, not just face but the whole body and get a glow in no time. Areas like elbows and knees get too dry and massaging them with it will lock in the moisture for longer.

Steps: Mix some honey and egg yolk in olive oil and mix all of them together. Apply it on your face with lukewarm water and leave it for 10-15 minutes. This will help restore your lost moisture and glow. You could aslo try these fruit face packs for dry skin.

All of these face packs and ingredients are great to relieve your skin from excessive dry and dull skin.
