More often than not, we tend to pick colognes and fragrances, based simply on the brand name, often choosing ones that are too mild or too strong. You certainly don't want to attract unnecessary attention at work or wherever you may spend most of your day because of your choice of cologne. Here is how you can hit it just right, with these simple tips:

  • When you get down to making a choice, ensure that you haven't already doused yourself with any deodorant or cologne. This will help you to make a sound choice, as you won't have any other fragrances distracting you.
  • The right composition, or 'note' as you would come across in fragrance terms, refers to the amount of ingredients blended in. This is what gives the cologne a crisp or a deep fragrance.
  • In terms of high utility, check for oil content in your pick. The more oil, the longer it will last you. This also implies that you have got to be careful with its usage to avoid an overpowering smell.
  • As a deciding factor, pick a fragrance that smells like you, not one that you want to smell like.
