I am 30-year-old woman and a housewife. Due to housework like washing clothes, utensils, etc. my hands have become rough and my fingers look old and wrinkly. What can I do to reverse this?
Many women take ample care of their face and look younger than they really are but remember, your hands can give away your age as they too suffer constant exposure to sunlight, water, harsh chemicals, etc.
Dermatologist Dr Kiran Lohia suggests reducing exposure to water. She says even if you have to do housework, wear rubber gloves and tie a rubber band around it so that water does not enter it. This will also prevent soap and detergent from coming in contact with your hands to avoid further damage.
Since your fingers are already wrinkly, you can opt for fillers. Explains Dr Jaishree Sharad, Fillers add back some cushion into the skin and plump up the area giving it a youthful appeal. The treatment takes about 20 minutes and the results last for a year.
Apart from this, don t forget to moisturise your hands twice every day with a good lotion to prevent them from becoming too dry. Even though moisturising won t reverse the damage, it will leave your skin feeling plumper and more youthful.
You can also go for manicures from time to time or do one yourself at home. This is like a facial for your hands and will leave it feeling young and beautiful. Here's how to do a manicure at home.
