You are just thirty, and you see one or two grey hair popping up in your hairline. What do you do? Pull out the grey hair or just dye the roots of the hair? Pulling out the hair may only result in a new strand of grey hair. Hair and beauty expert Janet Fernandez shares tips on what you should do when you see your first grey hair.

Do not cut your hair short: Many women get their hair cropped when they age. The coarse grey hair grow more towards the roots than the smooth ends so growing your hair long may help hide the grey hair as well as smooth the wayward texture. So do not cut your hair short and also avoid layered and textured styles. If you must trim the ends, go for blunt cuts.

Use oil-based dyes: If you want to colour your hair, use oil-based dyes. The extra moisture in oil-based dyes helps in adding shine and also managing the unruly grey hair. Also, make sure that you use a colour protecting shampoo and conditioner once a week to make sure that the dye stays in the hair s cuticle layer for long.
