This Halloween, one of the best options to cosplay is the hot, sexy and crazy Harley Quinn . This messy and bold look may take some time but it is worth it. Here's a step-by-step guide that you can follow to achieve the perfect Harley Quinn look:
Step 1.If you have noticed the base of the makeup is really pale almost whitish. You can create this effect using a really pale foundation(recommended) or using a safe white facepaint. So apply foundation with a soft brush all over your face a bit lavishly in an outward motion. Make sure you don't skip your neck area.
(Note: If you don't have a pale foundation, take your normal foundation add some white face cream or white powder to it)
Step 2: Since you're donning this look for a party, you can apply concealer under your eyes, highlight your cheek bone area with some illuminating powder and definitely apply a stroke of blush!
Step 3: Harley Quinn in the movie has kept her natural eyebrows for the rough look but I would suggest filling yours in with a black/brown eyebrow definer using an angled brush because the white facepaint/ pale foundation may make your brows look faded. Filling your eyebrows will give you a defined look.
Step 4: Now the most important part of her makeup, the eyes! One of her eyes has a pink color makeup and the other one has blue.The pink on is on the right side. Use a bright pink eyeshadow (make sure it's really bright, almost neon).Apply it as you would normally apply your eyeshadow then take the eyeshadow brush and start blending it on the edges to spread it even more. Harley has a kinda teary eye effect so simply put some eyeshadow on your index finger and drag it downwards from the outer corner of the eye and as you reach the lower cheekbone area take a brush and blend the tear drop effect
Step 5: Do the same with a bright blue eyeshadow on your left eye. Now to make your eyes look darker use a dark black kajal pencil and apply it on your tear line.For your upper eyelid use your liquid eyeliner, don't make a thick line or it will hide the shadow. Harley hasn't winged and has given a more natural look, for a glam look you can totally go ahead and wing it on! You may also take a bit of liquid glitter and apply it on your inner lashes.
Step 6: For your lashes, you may use fake eyelashes or use your favorite mascara.
Step 7: Now time to get a bit artistic. You may have noticed the little heart shape right beside the end of her pink teary eyeshadow. Make this little heart shape using your liquid eyeliner. Make sure you use liquid eyeliner and not the kohl because it may scrape away the foundation or white face paint you have applied in the base.If you use a glitter black eyeliner, even better!
Step 8: On the same side that you have below on the jawline you will notice the word, 'ROTTEN' written on her face. This has to be done with great precision or it is better if you ask someone else to do it. Again, you'll have to use a liquid eyeliner to do this! ( You may find a temporary tattoo of this in the stores. That'll save time)
Step 9: Finally the lipstick! Use a bright red lipstick to fill in your lips. Liquid lipstick is recommended because these dry matte and stay on longer or you a super matte bright red lipstick will work perfectly fine.
And there you are done with the whole makeup part of the Harley Quinn look. However, the hair and costume will complete the look. For hair to be on the safe side you may go for a Harley Quinn wig available or any normal blonde wig and give an ombre effect using a temporary hair color spray. If comfortable you may do it on your natural hair.
