Spikes transform your look instantly; you could be set for a meeting or for a night out with just with a few ruffles. This style could be tried on a short crop or even a crew cut. Steps to minimal spiking:

  • Ensure your hair is damp; if not, spray some water lightly.
  • Run your fingers through your hair and mess it up.
  • Take a pea size amount of gel (or water resistant gel) on either palm, put some in the other and apply it across all portions of your hair.
  • If you have longer hair at the centre than on the sides, you could spike that lot up,without touching the rest of your hair. In case of longer hair in the front you could choose to spike only the front bit or continue doing so backwards. For the spiked style, pull your front hair upward. You can continue doing this backwards.
  • For an uneven finishing you could move your hair in criss-cross directions.
