Glitter make-up rules you should keep in mind!

Here's how to ensure that you do not have glitter all over your face.

The glitter make-up has made its come back but you have to admit that all that shimmer and sparkly creams are tough to apply without getting it all over your face. We got a few tips from beauty expert Janet Fernandez that will help you embrace glitter without making you look like a hot mess.

Setting up the makeup space

If you are about to open a packet of loose glitter it is best that you move to the bathroom, instead of opening your vanity bag in your bedroom where you have a classic carpet underneath. It will be easier to clean up the sparkles on the bathroom tiles than on the bedroom rug.

Preparing your skin

Next, prepare your skin by cleaning and moisturising it for a flawless application. If you are working on a glittery eye, apply an eyeshadow first which is the same shade as that of the glitter so that the eyeshadow blends seamlessly. You can then apply a sticky base to help the glitter stick to the lids. Sizzle at the party with glitter eye-shadow.

Glitter application

If you are a beginner, it is best that you opt for a liquid glitter. Once it dries, there will not be any fallout. Just apply a little of the glitter on your lids, lash lines and around your eyes. Also, glitter suspended in aloe vera gel is a hot new style of applying glitter. Just mix all your favourite colours and glitter in a small amount of gel and apply it to the desired areas. The gel will keep the glitter from going all over your face.

Removing the glitter

After spending the night wowing people with your make-up, you may be tempted to run a wet wipe on your face. Resist doing that as that can get the glitter all over your sheaths. Also, washing your face is going to spread the glitter all over the face. Start by saturating a cotton pad with your makeup remover, and then gently wipe off the product in small circular motion.
