Maybe you are working late night on a project or worried about your relation with your spouse. Whatever it is your stress can show up on your face and make your face look bloated. That is because your body releases cortisol when you are stressed, which in turn throws off your body s salt levels causing water retention and leading to puffy face. Luckily, you can give your face a massage to de-bloat your face, so your stress won t show to the outside world. Cosmetologist Nandita Das tells you how you can do it.
Step 1: You will need a face moisturiser and an eye cream. The first step is to keep the products in the fridge so that the coolness of the products can help ease the inflammation.
Step 2: Then apply the moisturising cream on your palm and then gently pat your neck and face. The moisturising cream will help improve your skin elasticity and texture.
Step 3: Take some more cream and massage it gently in an upward sweeping motion on your face. This will help drain the fluids that are causing the inflammation on your face. Also, rub the temples of your face for added pleasure.
Step 4: Then using your fingertips, gently tap the eye cream on the delicate skin under your eyes. There are many nerve endings around your eyes, and so it is advised that you go gently.
Step 5: Then slowly start making circular motions around the eyes as you press the pressure points around the eye. Doing this will increase the circulation around the eyes. Using the eye cream will also help fight puffy eyes, dark circles and wrinkles.
So, the next time you feel stressed, take just five minutes of your day to relax and rejuvenate your face. Also, try these 4 types of facial massages.
