If you've had long locks for a while now and are keen to layer up or try a new look, don't be hesitant! Even though you may have hair reaching out to your waist, you can attempt to chop a few inches on your own and save a salon-trip.
Here is a video that gives a step-by -step guide to cut your hair in the comfort of your home. Mentioned in the video is a '1-shot' haircut, meaning you just flip your hair downward and hold it all at one length. Then, decide the number of inches you want to get rid of and hold your hair straight and proceed. In a few seconds, it's done! This works great for a quick-trim. Alternatively, you could use the 'side-facing' technique, where you look to the side and accumulate all you hair all at one length and then begin cutting. This will get done before you know and is a saviour if you are in a rush! However if you have thicker hair, it may just get difficult to put it all together. In this case it's best to seek professional help.
However, if you are heading to the salon anyway and are looking for some hair cut options, here is what you can try:
Deep side bangs with long layers
If you don't want a hairstyle with too much drama and like it rather sleek, a deep side parting with longer layers would fit well. This means you wont have hair falling on your face and would have a sophisticated appearance to it. Style with soft curls and waves to add texture. Opt for heat-free ways to style your hair. If you sport an oval or square shapes face, you could opt for this haircut.
Side bangs and layers
A haircut that frames your face better is usually one with bangs and layers reaching out to chin-length, adding up some more layers to the shoulders. Side swept bangs are fun if you are keen to get your hair highlighted; deep browns or dark burgundy would look just edgy. This haircut structures your face better and enhances your facial features too. This edgy style would complement women with heart-shaped faces.
Thick front bangs with layers
For a playful look, some front bangs look cute and make you appear younger. This hairstyle can look sassy and chic at the same time. The front bangs could be straight, while your hair could be wavy. Just leave your hair braided over night and you will wake up with natural beach waves! However, if you prefer your hair straight, here is how you straighten your hair at home. This hairstyle would flatter long or oval shaped faces.
