There is nothing sexier than strutting in a pair of killer heels, wearing a dress and displaying toned legs. Most women have a problem with their thigh area as their fat gets stored in that area.   • Squats
  • Knee drive
  • Supine bridge
  • Directional lunges
  • Hip abduction
  • Leg crossover

Pedicure

Pedicure is a great way to not only get instantly good-looking feet but also clean and neat feet as dead skin, calluses are removed, cuticles pushed in, toes are painted, etc. You can get one done at a salon by a professional or even done one yourself at home. Here’s how to do it.

Begin by toning and smoothing the skin by dry brushing your legs using a gentle body brush, working upwards to help stimulate circulation.

Fill a small tub with warm water and add a few drops of olive oil or any essential oil in it. Now soak your feet in it for at least 15 minutes. This will help soften your skin especially the calluses. Next, dry them with a towel and apply cuticle cream on your toes and use a cuticle pusher to push them back. You can use a toothpick to clean your nails also. 

Using a pumice stone or brush, gently scrape off the dead skin cells by rubbing it on your feet but in the same direction. This will help remove any residual dry or dead skin and instantly revitalise skin complexion. Wash your feet again and then apply a moisturiser and massage your feet for as long as you like. This will help further stimulate circulation and replenish skin’s moisture.

Now for your nails, first cut them with a nail clipper – be careful to not cut too deep or too much around the edges. Next, file them in the desired shape and remove your old nail paint with a nail polish remover. Apply a base coat (transparent nail polish) and let it dry. Choose a shade you like and put the first coat. After it dries off, apply the second coat. And you are ready to flaunt your feet.

Be hair-free

If you wish to show off your toned legs in a short dress, make sure there is no hair on them. Here are some ways you can try to get rid of unwanted hair from the area.

Waxing

This easy-to-do, inexpensive method removes hair from the roots and lets you stay hair-free longer. The composition of newer options such as chocolate wax makes the experience less painful.

Razors

Razors are easy to use, inexpensive, don’t require expertise and do not cause reactions or allergies. Make sure you use a shaving gel or cream and indulge in a short massage using a light, soothing body oil. Finish your moisture-boosting massage with an unperfumed body butter to further lock in moisture.

Epilators

Epilation is safer than razors. It reduces chances of skin damage and is inexpensive in the long run. It is also hassle-free as you don’t have to bother about shaving gels, water, lather, etc.

Hair removal creams

These are easy to use, inexpensive, easily available and do not require professional help. They are also pain-free. These days, you also get creams of lighter strength for people with sensitive skin.

Laser hair removal

They enable permanent reduction of hair, with no chance of in-growth. They don’t leave marks or cause infections. The treatment is monitored by a doctor after analysing your skin. This will require multiple sittings but the results are near-permanent with lesser hair growth. 

Get rid of cellulite

Cellulite can be quite unsightly and can spoil your look even if you get everything else right. It is more common in women to our collagen’s structure. While you can combat its occurrence by eating a healthy diet and exercise, you can also avail of treatments for cellulite. Some of these are:

  • Dietary supplements containing soy lecithin, sweet clove
  • Oil of evening primrose
  • Laser and light therapy
  • Mesotherapy
  • Wraps

Though these treatments vary in intensity and method, the underlying concept remains common which is to dilute the cellulite by different modes of action depending on the requirement of the patient, the area involved and the amount of cellulite. 

Contour legs with make-up

Apply a base colour tan first to give your skin a sun-kissed, ultra-even, healthy glow. Ideally this should be the night before your party. Next, you need to darken any areas you want to contour, tone or slim with a darker self-tan again, and then highlight with a bronzer, which will define, illuminate and accentuate your legs.

Apply this down on either side of the legs, outside and inner areas, which will instantly make the legs look narrower by drawing the eye to the middle area. You can also apply it down your calf bone to make your legs look slimmer or longer.
