Body odour does not just bring your spirit down, but that of others around you too. No amount of deodorants or perfumes can keep your body from emanating odour. They can only help you mask it. You ve taken a shower and used the most fragrant shower gel or soap, then how is it that the foul odour still remains! To know what causes body odour, click here.
A study indicates that your body odour is strongly linked to the food you eat. So if foods like garlic, onions, and spicy curries can lead to foul odour, there are foods that can help you smell good too.
Citrus Fruits: Strawberries, pineapples and oranges not only smell delicious but are also easily absorbed by the body. They also contain antioxidants. Antioxidants help flush out the harmful toxins and waste from your body thus eliminating the body odour.
Parsley: The natural aromatic oils present in parsley helps neutralize body odour. Regular consumption of this herb can keep bad odour away. Just like garlic emanates its pungent odour when absorbed in the body, parsley's aromatic properties help get rid of body odour and help you smell good.
Yogurt: The beneficial microorganisms in curd aid digestion and combats toxins more effectively, which in turn ensures no foul odour. The acidic nature of yogurt helps control the oil secretion of glands too. Since sweat contains these secretions that lead to odour, eating yogurt is beneficial to avoid the oils from mixing with dirt to give off the odour.
Apple Juice: Packed with vitamins, apple juice helps in removing toxins, that are a cause of body odour, from your system. So an apple (juice) a day, keeps bad odour at bay.
Fenugreek Seeds: Soak them overnight and eat a spoonful every day. Chewing them might be a task, but the antibacterial and antifungal properties of fenugreek will ensure your skin and body is healthy and thus reduce body odour.
Lime Water: Drinking lots of water is the key to good health. Add to it the citrus goodness of lime and it will refresh you system by flushing out all the toxins. You will naturally smell good once all the dirt is out of your body. Two to three glasses per day, especially during summers, will be beneficial.
