If your nails are weak, you can try applying an OTC topical like mandelic acid to smooth out the cracks in your nails.

Almond oil is also a natural way to restore your nail health. This oil carries essential antioxidants and nutrients from vitamin E, A, B1, B2, and B6. Massage this on your hands or soak your hands into this mixture for not more than 2 minutes.

It can be a good idea to wear gloves when washing dishes or gardening to prevent breaking of nails.
Also, avoid washing your hands frequently with an antibacterial soap. Just use a gentle cleanser and then use a moisturiser to lock in moisture in your hands.
Lack of vitamins A and C can cause dry, brittle nails. So be sure to take your multivitamin tablets every day.
Biotin can help strengthen your nails so eat biotin rich foods like eggs, cauliflower, whole grains and avocado. Also, take biotin supplements if necessary.
