That expensive pair of Jimmy Choos or those cute monsoon flip-flops will look even more fab if your feet look pretty and groomed. Home pedicures are an easy way out during busy weeks. But once a month, you need to give your feet some professional TLC. Visiting a salon for a special treatment is a must. Ice-cream pedicures, rose petal pedicure, cocktail pedicures--there are so many to choose from. The latest addition to this list is the champagne pedicure. No, it doesn't mean sipping on the bubbly while getting a pedicure done. This pedicure actually uses champagne for your feet. Pooja Goel, Makeup artist and Owner of Khoobsurat Salon and Spa, Delhi tell us more about the champagne pedicure.

Champagne, also called bubbly because of the distinct tiny bubbles in it, is a preferred choice for premium nail services in the western countries. The tiny bubbles work as a natural exfoliant during the pedicure and also improve blood circulation.

A typical champagne pedicure will mostly use products made of grapes, grape seeds, grape seed oils or the extract. These ingredients when combined with citrus or rose essence make for a perfect, relaxing pedicure. The procedure begins with a foot soak comprising champagne accented with minerals and brought to room temperature. Hot water is not used here to soak or soften the feet. This is then followed by grape seed scrub to exfoliate all the calluses and dead skin. Champagne oil (grape seed oil) is used for massaging the legs and feet after the regular routine of trimming cuticles and cleaning and shaping nails. The champagne oil massage hydrates the feet perfectly after the exfoliation. It also assists in improving the appearance of ageing feet, restoring moisture and also helps prevent skin discolouration.
