Yay! Diwali is finally here and for a makeup addict like me, it's great because I can go all out with my makeup for the festive season. Since glitter is the hot trend of the season, it is a good time to really glam your look with your highlighter in your makeup routine. Here are few highlighter hacks that will help you glow this Diwali:

1. Use the highlighter according to your foundation: For example, if you are using a liquid foundation, use a liquid highlighter too for a perfect finish so that it looks well blended and not patchy.

2. If you want a very subtle glow on your face, the best way to use your highlighter would be to mix it with your liquid foundation and apply it on the areas you would apply your highlighter.

3. Make sure you highlight the right area on your face. Most people don't know the right areas for using a highlighter. You must apply it on areas on your face where the light will hit directly and not the hollows on the face. For example, the bridge of your nose, the tops of your cheekbones, your forehead, your cupid's bow and probably your chin.

4. Use your highlighter over your blush for a rosier look!

5. Little goes a very long way when it comes to highlighters. Use a very less amount and most importantly consider the lighting in the area you are going to.

6. If you don't want to use a highlighter as it is way too much for you, go for facial oils for a glowy look. Mix your liquid foundation with a good facial oil for a very natural glow on your face.

7. Use only highlighter brush for applying highlighter as the application needs to be proper and should spread on your face, in the right areas. You don't want a shimmery mess on your face.
