Cryotherapy is taking Hollywood by storm with celebs like Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Demi Moore trying it out in bid to have younger looking, flawless skin. The treatment subjects you to temperatures as low as -140 degrees due to which the blood rushes up to the skin s surface and in the process flushes out toxins and gives you radiant skin almost immediately. What happens in this treatment?

In this treatment the skin lesions (benign/malignant) are subjected to freezing temperatures (cold trauma) by liquid nitrogen which eventually destroys them.

What are the benefits?

This treatment is used for warts, moles, malignant tumours/growths, solar keratosis (sun-damaged skin), and skin tags. Cryo slush is also used to treat active acne and deep scars.

Is it for everyone?

Who should avoid it?

Young patients like children (less than 18 years), patients with SLE, Raynaud s phenomenon should avoid it cryotherapy.

Does it have any side-effects?

Slight irritation, necrosis (death of a body tissue) and/or slight infection are the common side-effects of this treatment.

Does it require maintenance?

Yes. Frequent sittings are required.

What is the approximate cost of the treatment?
