I often wear eyeliner or kohl and use some compact while stepping out. Is it necessary to clean it with a make-up remover or just using a facewash sufficient? Please advice.

A proper cleansing routine is a must to remove all the harsh chemicals present in the make-up. Leaving it on your skin or not cleaning it properly can clog the pores, leading to acne and other skin issues. Here s why you should use a make-up remover before you sleep.
As far as a cleansing routine for basic make-up is concerned, do you wear make-up in the morning while stepping out and return only by evening? In that case, washing your face with a good face wash is sufficient. Most eyeliners or kohl pencils start wearing off after 6-7 hours. So by the time you are home, the liner, kohl or compact powder has already faded. However, the chemicals in your cosmetics are still present on your skin so washing your face with just plain water will not suffice. Apply face wash and massage in gentle circular motion all over the face. Massage under the eyes and on eyelids too. Then wash your face with lukewarm water as it helps in getting rid of the stubborn dirt or bacteria, if any, as compared to cold water. Here are 5 not so harsh ways of removing make-up.
If you have applied basic make-up for a late evening party and are returning home in 2-3 hours, then you will need to follow a make-up removal routine. You can use natural make-up removers like milk, rosewater or olive oil for removing the eyeliner or mascara. These ingredients also act as toners and cleansers. A quick use of make-up remover followed by washing your face and patting it dry will keep your skin healthy. If you make it a habit, it won t take more than 3-4 minutes of your time. Follow these steps to remove make-up the right way.
