Hard water is essentially water that has a high mineral content in it and it becomes difficult for our soaps and shampoos to lather with it. This often leads to more usage and this coupled with hard water can make the skin dry and hair frizzy and brittle. It is therefore essential to curb its damage. Here are a few tips which will come in handy when dealing with hard water.
Firstly, add a spoonful of alum to your bucket of water as this will help the minerals settle at the bottom of the bucket. Use only the clear water. After you bathe, moisturise your skin well to prevent dryness and apply warm olive oil on your hair. If you do not wish to do so, for your last rinse, use apple cider vinegar for your hair. You can even opt for chelating shampoos that prevent damage caused by hard water. Lastly, add sufficient protein in your diet to keep both skin and hair healthy.
