When we think of ittar or attar, the first thing that comes to our minds is a tiny glass bottle filled with perfume that is either dabbed or rubbed on to our skin. Ittar is sold all over India and comes in various price ranges depending on its quality. It is basically a natural perfume oil that is extracted from plants or flowers. However, what we find more commonly in the market is now chemical-based ittar. Here's why you need to be watchful of the perfume you use.
I have always been fond of those tiny bottles, so when I got the chance to try out Hedonista's fleur frozen ittar recently, it was a great treat mainly because it has the fragrance of the night-blooming jasmine. Of course, the concept of a frozen ittar is very new for me and I wanted to see just how long-lasting it really is. Here are 5 easy hacks to make your perfume last longer. The Trial
The product description says that it is a solid perfume that was inspired by rainforests and wild flowers. The instructions mention that using your fingers, it should be applied behind your ears, on your wrists, throat and also the backs of your knees. I applied small portions behind my ears and on my throat and wrists. However, I felt that it is difficult to scoop up enough of the product and if you have long nails, it can be a slightly messy process.
My Review
There's no doubt that this frozen jasmine ittar smells great. The fragrance is subtle and not over-powering in the least but I also felt it was slightly underwhelming. Since the fragrance is so subtle, it fades away after barely one or two hours. So remember to keep it in your handbag if you want to smell like jasmines throughout the day. Also, the product is more on the expensive side and if used regularly, it will get over within a few weeks itself. I only wish the fragrance was slightly stronger and also if there was an easier way to apply the product but I guess you just need to get used to it. Looking for your signature perfume?
