Bad dietary habits and erratic lifestyles are the topmost reasons for skin problems. Most people today consume junk and packaged food in excess, do not exercise daily, spend long hours sitting in one position, and don't have a fixed sleep schedule. All of us lead stressful lives. According to Ayurvedacharya Dr Partap Chauhan, director, Jiva Ayurveda, this results in Pitta and Vata aggravation, which in turn leads to dull skin, dark circles, wrinkles, acne, blackheads, and decreased blood circulation. To ensure that your skin retains its healthy glow, make these simple changes in your diet and lifestyle.

1) Establish a regular bedtime and morning routine. Go to bed by 10 pm and get up by 6 am. The time after 10 pm, in Ayurveda, is known as Pitta time . If you stay awake during those hours, you could fall prey to Pitta imbalance. Get at least 7- 8 hours of sleep daily.

2) Make sure you exercise for at least 15-30 minutes daily, preferably in the outdoors. It improves blood circulation and ensures that your vital body organs get ample Prana Vayu (life-giving oxygen). Follow these beauty tips by an Ayurveda expert.

3) Drink plenty of fresh water daily as it helps to eliminate toxins and keep your digestive system healthy. It also helps in preventing dehydration by balancing the water content in our body. Follow these tips to make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.

4) Let fresh fruits and vegetables, fruit juices and salads be a major part of your diet as they have high nutritive value. They can help your skin glow. If you want gorgeous skin this year, follow these beauty tips by Shahnaz Husain.
