You are sitting in a bus full of people and suddenly realize that you are stinking. Precisely, you realize that your armpit has gone crazy and is full of sweat which is quite visible through the light coloured top you are wearing. Even worse, as you higher your hand to catch the roof-bar of the bus, everybody is actually looking at you. Isn't that embarrassing? Totally yes, we understand.
Sweating all over your body is a real pain, yes, but sweating only on the armpit area can be a bigger challenge too. Excessive sweating in the armpits is called as axillaryhyperhidrosis. What makes is worse is the odour. According to the International Hyperhidrosis Society, the sweat glands that are active in armpits are called apocrine glands. These glands emit a slightly thicker fluid than the swear and when the bacteria on the skin comes in contact with this fluid- it cause odour.
While it is true that almost everyone does experience sweating, some of us may find it a little too annoying. Here are 3 easy solutions for you to try:
Antiperspirants: Various products that the medical or beauty stores sell aim at stopping this odour. They clog the pores so that the sweat cannot be released. Some experts advice that you must apply antiperspirants at night so that the pores can absorb them and lock the sweat by morning. Most deodorants contain aluminium chloride. However, if you have excessive sweat, it is best to consult a doctor.
Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar has a host of benefits. When applied directly to skin, it also acts as astringent to help in removing bacteria and close the pores. Use a cotton ball and rub the cider vinegar on your underarm, wash it off in the morning. Sometimes, drinking a vinegar concoction is a good way to reduce the effects of hyperhidrosis. A good way to drink the concoction is by mixing 2 teaspoons of vinegar with honey in a glass of water. Drink it on an empty stomach.
Tomato juice: This juicy vegetable fruit is more beneficial than you think. Tomatoes shrink the pores and reduce the chronic sweat by regulating internal temperature. Having a glass of tomato juice will help in controlling excessive sweat. If you are someone who doesn't have tomatoes, applying tomato juice to your underarms and letting it dry for about 10 minutes can be helpful. Rinse it off later.
