Messy bun Also Read - Follow these simple hacks to manage wavy hair

This one is the latest trend as far as hair up-dos are concerned. It’s is easy to achieve and doesn’t require too much maintenance either.

Steps: Audrey Dsouza, educator at TIGI, explains how to get this style right, ‘Prepare your hair with a mousse or a leave in foam which allows you to get the volume and keeps your texture intact. (If your hair is wavy, curly or straight it would just accentuate your texture). Divide your hair on horizontal three sections. Tie your hair in a ponytail and tuck the ends of the first two sections into the ponytail holder. Pin the last section around all of them and it will leave you with a messy textured bun.’

Wavy, loose curls

Wavy and loose curls simply don’t go out of fashion. They give a fresh look and bounce to your hair and are easy to achieve.

Steps: Audrey says, ‘Prepare your hair with a mousse or a leave in foam which allows you to get the texture and spray a product on your roots that gives volume to your hair. Tie your hair in the way it falls and tuck it in sections. Secure them with U pins and dry out the hair completely with the dryer while your hair is in sections. You shall have loose wavy curls.’

Side-swept curls

To add a little variation to your wavy or curly hairstyle, you can simply pin all your hair to one side. This could surely do for an evening function or a cocktail party.

Steps: After you are done curling the rest of your hair, just flick your hair to either sides. If you want a neater look and don’t want your hair to fall on your face or if you have long hair, you could pin your front layers behind. For this, back comb the hair that usually falls on your face and puff it a little. Pin this with a couple of transparent or black pins. Pin your hair, almost near your neck with some tight pins. To cover the pins, you could either use some fresh flowers or an accessorized hair clip.

Romantic side bun

For that easy twist in the usual bun hairstyles, the romantic side bun could be a good variation to try out.

Steps: Audrey says, ‘Use a mousse or a leave in foam. Then, tease your hair all over the upper half of the head using a backcomb. Make sure there is more teasing toward the sides of your head. Secure the hair with elastic in a mid-low side ponytail a couple of inches behind your ear. Lastly, roll it up tightly and pin it.’

Messy waves

If you are looking for something that looks natural and doesn’t need too much of an effort, then the messy waves are for you.

Steps: Perfect tousled beach waves can be achieved by using a spray or mousse. Before you go to sleep, use a curling wand at some sections or all over depending on the amount of curls you want. When you wake up, you will have the amazing out of the bed and perfect beach waves. Just wear a head chain or band to give a traditional twist to your outfit.

Half French braid

This is a fine combination of the French braid with your hair left open towards the ends. The hairstyle keeps the front section of your hair neat, leaving the rest of your hair open.

Steps: Begin with tying a band as you would normally. However, just before you do so, to add that volume and puff to your crown section, just tease and back comb the hair and pin it. Then, proceed with making French braid. Don’t complete this braid, in fact stop when you have completed 3/4th your hair. Once you do, tie it with a clear elastic band and pin the sides to keep your hair in tact. You could always use some decorative hair accessories. This hairstyle also works well for those with short hair.
