5 morning hair hacks you’ll thank me for

I love my hair but don’t get enough time to pamper them. With my long local train commutes and late-night parties, you figure out how much time I have left for myself, much lesser for my hair! And for someone who’s supposed to give beauty tips to lakhs of people on a daily basis, I better have hair I’m proud of, isn’t it? The hair wash hacks

Who doesn’t love hot showers? I do too. But when I stick to only hot water for my hair, it’s all frizzy and unmanageable.

Hack 1: Just rinse your hair in the end with some cold water. If you want to avoid cold water on your body, just use a hand-shower or the very desi ‘mug’. It seals the cuticles of the hair and keeps it manageable. We give you the ultimate guide to managing wet hair.

Hack 2: If I don’t get up on time and hardly have time to wash my hair, I don’t. Why? I want to avoid using the hair dryer. As simple as that. I did use it in my college days, but I noticed it started looking lifeless. It’s better to have greasy hair for a day than have dry and lifeless hair, isn’t it? If you have to use a hairdryer, use it with a diffuser. Here is how.

The long commute hack

I dread the ‘post-local train’ look. And you might dread the ‘post-scooty’, ‘post-bus’ look.

My hack: If you have more than shoulder-length hair, don’t forget to braid it or cover it with a scarf, bandana or a dupatta. And arrive at the office or college in style. Have short hair? Here is how to keep them healthy.

The tangle hack

Only women from Hindi soaps get up with perfect hair and no tangles. If you see me when I get up, you wouldn’t recognize me!

My hack: Whoever invented the wide-tooth comb deserves applause. Take 5-10 minutes and run the comb through your hair gently to detangle before you step into the shower. You’ll see why it’s worth it. Similarly, for those with long hair, your hair tools matter the most. Here is how you can take care of your long hair.

The flyaway hack

If there were one thing I would ask the Genie from Aladin, it would be to have hair minus the flyaways and the frizz. I often end up looking like I am electrocuted, just after my shower.

My hack: I don’t recommend a lot of hair products but for this problem, a medium-hold hairspray does the trick. I’ve tried this medium hold hair spray and currently am using the ‘Bed Head Masterpiece’ hair spray. I totally love it!

The slippery bobby-pin hack

There are days when I spend a long time pinning up my hair and by the time I reach office, the bobby pins are all loose and my hair’s in a mess. I can see you women nodding to this!

My hack: Just use a little dry shampoo on the bobby pins before you use them. I bet they’ll stay there till you reach home in the evening.
