Having a bad hair day? Rather than panicking and rushing to the salon, you can soothe your tresses with some TLC at home. There are several DIY hair packs which can not only solve hair woes like damaged locks, hair fall, dandruff and dry hair but keep those dreaded bad hair days away. Makeover expert Aashmeen Munjaal offers a few healthy, easy-to-make hair packs using natural ingredients.

Coconut and olive oil mask

This mask is best-suited for dry and frizzy hair. Its moisturising elements make hair soft and shiny.

To make it, mix coconut and olive oils and apply it gently from root to tip of your hair.

After that, keep your hair covered with a shower cap.

Leave it for more than an hour.

Then, rinse it off with a mild herbal shampoo and apply conditioner. You can also use olive oil and coconut oil for other beauty purposes.

Banana cream mask

Banana is a natural ingredient which makes hair strong by preventing your roots from getting damaged. Also use banana to make face packs.

  • Blend one overripe banana in a grinder.
  • Then add one tablespoon of honey to it.
  • Apply it on your hair, especially the roots.
  • Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. This will nourish your scalp.
  • Use it if you have damaged, frizzy hair.

Oatmeal hair mask

It is best-suited for those who have an oily scalp, dandruff, scalp irritation and inflammation. It helps in eliminating excessive oil and results in hair growth by treating dandruff and protecting hair follicles.

  • Mix oatmeal, fresh milk and almond oil and make a paste.
  • Ensure that your hair is free from tangles before applying the pack.
  • Put it gently on your hair.
  • Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
  • Do this once a week. You can also manage greasy hair with these tips.

Hibiscus hair mask

It is a solution for weak roots as hibiscus is known to strengthen them.

  • Soak hibiscus petals overnight in a cup of water.
  • Then blend it with olive oil and raw milk.
  • Apply this pack on hair.
  • Keep the hair mask for 20 to 25 minutes and then rinse it with water.
  • It will also make your hair soft and silky. If you have hair fall problem, make this hibiscus pack.

Egg hair mask

Eggs are known do wonders for your hair. They are rich in protein, vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants and help in shooing away common hair problems. This hair pack can help initiate hair growth. Use it if you see your hair is thinning or there are too many strands on your brush.

  • To make it, take the white of one egg and mix in a teaspoon of olive oil.
  • Beat to give a paste-like consistency and apply to the entire scalp and hair.
  • Keep it on for about 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water and a mild shampoo.
